We're creating more opportunities for adults living in East Gateshead, High Fell and Deckham to improve their health and wellbeing through sport.

We're delivering the Active Through Football programme together with Sport England, the Football Foundation and local partners including Gateshead Older People's Assembly and Edberts House.

Active Through Football sessions

All sessions are completely free to join.

Walking football

Walking football offers several health benefits, such as reducing the risk of cardiovascular disease and stroke while improving blood pressure. It also gives you the chance to become involved in something you really enjoy while making new friends.

Where and when:

  • Gateshead International Stadium, 6-7pm on Thursdays
  • Gateshead Older People's Assembly, 10-11am and 11am-12 noon on Fridays

Soccercise can be tailored for all levels of fitness. It can help introduce you to football, re-familiarise those who haven't played for a while or an alternative way to keep fit. The inclusion of footballs adds co-ordination and core stability to familiar exercises, followed by a cuppa, a chat around health nutrition and future sessions/activities.

Where and when:

  • Larkspur House, 10am-12 noon on Tuesdays
  • Pattinson House, 10am-12 noon on Wednesdays

Felling Active Mams

Get involved in fun actvities to help you keep fit and healthy, including soccercise, boxercise, multi-sports and parent vs children games.

Where and when:

  • Felling Community Centre, 5-6pm on Thursdays
