From Monday 7 June, the gym at Gateshead Leisure Centre will reopen to customers, and bookings can been made for the reopening of the gym at Heworth Leisure Centre on Monday 14 June.

This is in addition to the gym at Gateshead International Stadium and the gym, swimming pools and fitness classes at Dunston Leisure Centre, which are already open for bookings.

All gyms feature state-of-the-art cardio equipment and an exceptional selection of resistance and free-weight equipment. Gateshead Leisure Centre also features a comprehensive functional training area, including training rig.

All our gyms were fully refurbished last year, and for those of you who are yet to see the results; we can't wait to welcome you.

Our gyms are open to both members and non-members. Returning members will need to reactivate their membership before your first visit. This will also reinstate your monthly Direct Debit payment.

Non-members will need to pay for your session at the time of booking.

Booking in advance is essential for all gym sessions, and can be made up to seven days in advance.

We have made a number of changes to our operating procedures and introduced COVID-19 safety measures to help keep you safe when visiting our leisure centres. This includes the introduction of one way system, the wearing of face coverings through the site except when using the gyms, pools or studios, and the installation of hand sanitising stations throughout. Please familiarise yourself with these in advance of your first visit.

If gyms aren't your thing, all swimming pools are open, and a limited fitness class programme are available for booking at Dunston Leisure Centre.
