Swimming lessons at GO Gateshead have no age limit.
If you're an adult, and own a swimming costume, you'll love our adult swimming lessons. Lessons are 45-minutes and there's no excuse not to practice as you also get unlimited free swimming during public sessions at our five pools!
Whether you're a complete beginner, a nervous swimmer or someone looking to fine-tune stroke technique, we can help you reach your goals.
For adults trying out swimming for the first time, our qualified Swim England (opens new window) teachers will work with you to improve confidence in water, before building the skills and techniques you need to become a competent swimmer in several different strokes.
If you're a more experienced swimmer coming back from a break or looking to improve, you can take advantage of experienced coaching to develop stroke technique across all four strokes in our Advanced lessons.
Adults can also use lessons as a way to progress into competitive swimming or join a Masters swimming club.
Evening and weekend lessons run 50 weeks per year; weekday daytime lessons run 37 weeks per year in term time.

Adult lessons may also be purchased in blocks (minimum 6). Weekday daytime lessons run term time only and are charged in half termly blocks

Payment
Once you find a space you'll pay nothing upfront, no joining fee, and no minimum term contract!
Your first payment will be the 1st of the next month. You can continue for as many or as few months as you want.
If you find that lessons aren't for you you can cancel within 14 days with absolutely nothing to pay. When you do want to cancel just let us know by the 20th of the month and we will take no further payments and you can attend until the last lesson of the month.
